AI citation readiness checker
Paste a page's text or HTML and get a score plus a checklist. The checks come from the research summarized in our GEO playbook. Everything runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
Heuristic, not a guarantee. No tool can promise that ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google AI Overviews will cite a page. This checker only looks for features that published studies associate with being used in AI answers. Ranking in normal search, crawler access and mentions on other sites matter too, and a pasted snippet can't show those.
What is scored, and why
| Check | Points | Evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Concrete statistics (percentages, money, counts) | 25 | Supported in the KDD 2024 GEO paper and still helped on every platform in a 3,205-page replication (replication). |
| Substantial length (600+ words) | 15 | High-influence pages were longer (arXiv 2604.25707). |
| Modular structure (3+ section headings) | 15 | High-influence pages were modular (same study). |
| Definitions | 10 | Rich in definitions (same study). |
| Comparisons | 10 | Rich in comparisons (same study). |
| Procedural steps | 10 | Rich in procedural steps (same study). |
| Structured data (Article, Organization or FAQ JSON-LD) | 15 | A technical basic from our playbook. This is practitioner guidance, not a measured effect. |
Flagged but not scored: heavy quotation or citation stuffing, which didn't help in the replication and often went the wrong direction; Q&A formatting alone, which the 2026 study found didn't help; and a visible "updated" date. Freshness isn't in our evidence base, so it's shown for information only.
